Vwave Artbook vol.1

Originally created as the companion catalog to Demonslayer’s 2024 exhibition California Dreaming: The Nearly Forgotten Culture of Vietnamese New Wave, presented at gallery Mot +++ in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this artbook stands as a sought-after artifact in its own right.

Vwave traces the vibrant visual language and evocative nostalgia of the Vietnamese New Wave movement. Within its pages, rare cassette tapes and CDs from the artist Dan Nguyen's personal archive (many of which have never been digitized), appear alongside a curated selection of found images spanning 1992–2022. Together, they illuminate a cultural moment long forgotten yet profoundly influential.
